Hello there!

This may be a stab in the dark, but I have a quick question for everyone. I'm living in Sault Ste. Marie and would like to bring my horse up here from Blind River. Does anyone know of any barns in the area that aren't going to charge me $350 a month?

Thanks :)

Intro post [31 May 2005|10:34am]

Hello everyone! I'm new to this community, so I thought I'd say hi. I live in Vancouver, BC, right now but I was born and raised in the Soo.

I went to Cardinal Leger elementary school (back when it was located in the West End of the Soo, I think it's now moved to somewhere else in the city) and Notre Dame des Ecoles. The old neighbourhood where I grew up in was on Sherwood Parkway, off Peoples Road, near the Fort Creek Conservation area. My family moved to Ottawa and we lived there for five years before returning to the Soo in the late 80s, when I finished high school at Mount St. Joseph.
I left the Soo in 1991, but I manage to visit every two years or so (I still have some family there).

I have a lot of great memories of the Soo and St. Joseph Island where my parents used to have a small cottage.

I have been up visiting the soo for a week now *Echo Bay*. Why do I love being up here so damn much!?! We had Gino's pizza tonight for supper. Only wish we could get great pizza like that down south.

We are heading back home tomorrow.. but will be back again in early July.

hey everyone. i am bored at work and thought that i would search the site of LJ for a little bit. I came accross this. Technically i am not from Canada but i am from the Sault...i am from Sault, Michigan. I am over in Canada often and thought i would join this group. I currently live in Sault, Michigan and work at Super 8 Motel here also. I just thought it would be cool to meet some people and who knows, maybe grow some friendships. But say hi anytime.

I was wondering if anyone has any feedback about greg the tattoo guy at Anipeg. So far I've only heard bad stuff, and I have an appointment for the 1st of Feb. Anyone have any work done by him?

I like winter, really I do. Even when I was out delivering Sault Stars and going "Holy cow, the windchill is -45 right now..." I love a sunny winter day when everything is painted in these cool shades of yellow and blue, and at night when the street lamps and christmas lights make everything orange, and the snow is all sparkly. But I hate slush with a passion.

What some of your favorite/hated things about winter?

Home for the Holidays. [01 Dec 2004|12:39pm]

[ mood | good ]

Hey ppl,
Just wanted to post in here..it's amazing it's still up...but i'll be coming home in a few weeeks and it's going to kick ass.
Living in Ottawa is crazy but i like it. I do miss the Soo though, when you're gone for awhile you tend to miss that city. Even though it's not that great of a city. I still miss it.

These are pics I took last month on a field trip to Quebec. :)

radios are being jerks now! [31 Oct 2004|04:09pm]

[ mood | bitchy ]

so i heard the sickest thing yesturday on the radio...99.5 yes FM radio...this commercial came on about how they're voting yes for no gay marriage and being really pushy about how everyone should on it...i remember one of the lines that stood out "i know im voting yes and i know everyone ive talked to is too" it was like so hurtful because im canadian and i married a american and she has to live over here just she puts up with so much of not having the same rights over here in canada...like at her work one of her managers told her that she cant call in if our son gets sick because im here so basically he could be in his death bed or i could be and she couldnt call in. luckily she doesnt work there no more but yeah i heard this stupid commercial over the radio and its like wtf is the radio station ive been listening to all my life gone discriminative...the commercial was awful and it really hurt me, my wife, and our friend missy's feelings...were planning on writing a letter but ya know normally id shrug it off but i have a son and i dont want him listening to the radio one day hearing that garbage and looking at us and asking what the guy meant...know what i mean? if anyone else on here has heard a similiar ad or has heard that ad you should write letters too...because its really wrong and its hurtful in every way..its bad enough presidents and tv have it all over that the radio something we listen to in our car has to do it too...sickening i tell ya...

Hey [07 Sep 2004|11:46am]

[ mood | curious ]

Well.. I'm new to the community so I thought I'd post. My name's Lise and i'm 18. I used to live in the Soo until I was 8 then we moved out west. I go back every few years. Sault ste. Marie is the best city ever. Mainly cuz my whole family still lives there. I don't know if any of my friends would see me and remember me. However I used to live on Hillside Drive, and I went to St. John's elementry school. :)

Well.. It would be nice to talk to people from the soo anyways, even if I don't know you, cuz it's fun meeting new people. So comment. :)

Ever notice how every new person you meet knows someone you know that's totally unrelated to the person that you met person A through?

I think that all the teenagers in the Sault are sorta interconnected in a crazy way. Like six degrees of separation.

Maybe it's just a sort-of small town thing.

It'd be interesting to see how many circles we could draw.
